Menu planning completed!

Yesterday Paul and I got together and planned this year's menu. We made only a few changes from last year.

Last year we decided that although we like pancakes they make a terrible mess and the clean up is a real pain. So this year we will do Filled French Toast instead. This will be two slices of french toast with a carmalized Banana / Pineapple / Rum filling. This will be served with Bacon.

I mentioned that I loved dumplings when we put them in a stew several years ago, so we decided to change the Chicken with Peanuts dinner to Chicken with Dumplings.

Baxter 2003 Dates!

I am back from vacation and this year's Baxter reservations were waiting for me in the mail. According to the envelope, they mailed them on March 18th.

We got our third choice. Here are the facts:

  • Arrive: Monday September 15th
  • Campground: South Branch Pond
  • First night: Monday September 15th
  • Last night: Friday September 19th
  • Total nights: 5
  • Depart: Saturday September 20th
  • Campsite: Tent site #35
  • Number of reservations: 6 campers
  • Price per camper: $40

Reservation Letter Sent

I completed the Baxter reservations letter yesterday (Monday January 27th) and mailed it to the Baxter Reservation Clerk this morning. In the letter I asked for the following days (in order of preference):

  • Choice 1: Arrive Monday September 8th and depart Saturday September 13th - One large tent site.
  • Choice 2: Arrive Monday September 8th and depart Saturday September 13th - Two adjacent tent sites (perhaps sites #18 & #19?).
  • Choice 3: Arrive Monday September 15th and depart Saturday September 20th - One large tent site.
  • Choice 4: Arrive Monday September 15th and depart Saturday September 20th - Two adjacent tent sites.

Now we wait and see what happens.
