day 3

Adirondack Trip - Third Day - August 24, 2005

Breakfast was French Toast for the kids, and French Toast with a reduced banana/pineapple/rum sauce.

Everyone except me hikes Blue Mountain.   Bill and Bill and kids leave first.  Paul, Mark and Eric sometime afterwards.

I stay, play with ducks, recycle glass, dispose of trash, and organize the site.  New innovation: Clothesline with carbines to hold pots and pans.

Use lantern tripod to hold up cooking utensil bag.

Bill Earl and kids return first and head for showers.  Slowly others trickle in and do the same.

The hike was on a very busy trial.   Trail was fairly gradual except for last few hundred yards.  Last hundred yards was level.   Views, particularly from watch tower were good.   The kids were very competitive with each other to get to the top.  But kids made it to the top.

When they got to the top of Blue Mountain everyone pulled out their cellphones to make calls home.

Dinner was a vegetable curry, which was great.
